Terms and Conditions

Welcome to FateTide, a virtual tabletop and ruleset platform for fantasy tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs). By accessing or using FateTide, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using FateTide, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules provided on the platform. These terms apply to all users, including players, game masters, and content creators.

2. Use of the Service

FateTide provides a digital platform for creating, managing, and playing TTRPG campaigns. You may use the platform to:

Create and manage characters, campaigns, and game assets.
Participate in online gaming sessions as a player or game master.
Share user-generated content, such as homebrew rules or campaign settings, subject to our content guidelines.

You agree to use FateTide in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and not to engage in any prohibited activities, including but not limited to:

Distributing malicious software or engaging in hacking activities.
Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users.
Sharing or creating content that is unlawful, offensive, or violates intellectual property rights.

3. Accounts and Security

To access certain features of FateTide, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. User-Generated Content

FateTide allows users to create and share content, such as characters, campaigns, and homebrew rules. By submitting content, you grant FateTide a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content on the platform. You retain ownership of your content but agree that it complies with our content guidelines and does not infringe on third-party rights.

5. Intellectual Property

FateTide, including its ruleset, artwork, and software, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of FateTide without prior written permission, except as permitted under these terms.

6. Subscription and Payments

Certain features of FateTide may require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay all applicable fees as outlined on our website. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to modify subscription plans and pricing at any time, with notice provided to active subscribers.

6.1 GM Credit (Plus subscribers)

GM Credit is an account benefit for eligible Plus (or bundled equivalent) subscribers who run paid tables on FateTide. Subject to product and billing integration, qualifying GMs may earn credit toward a future Plus renewal when they host sessions that meet the criteria below. GM Credit is discretionary; we may pause, cap, or end the program.

Unless we publish different numbers with notice, a qualifying session must satisfy all of the following:

You are the game master for the session inside FateTide’s normal hosted-session flow.
The session includes at least two (2) paying players, meaning participants whose seats or listings are billed as paid through FateTide (or as otherwise indicated in product settings).
The session records at least two (2) hours of completed hosted play time for that run, measured according to FateTide’s session timing and completion rules in effect at the time of play.
The session ends in a completed or billable state (not voided by cancellation rules, fraud review, refunds, or chargebacks we treat as disqualifying).

We may deny or claw back credit for abuse, collusion, manipulated session timers, or other bad faith. We expect a limit per billing period on how often credit can be earned (for example, one qualifying credit event per subscriber per month); exact caps appear in product copy and billing history when the feature is live.

Single qualifying session; full credit. For any billing period in which you qualify for GM Credit, one (1) qualifying session that meets the rules above is sufficient to receive the full GM Credit amount we publish for that period toward your next eligible Plus renewal. We do not require multiple qualifying sessions in the same period to earn that full amount, and we do not reduce the credit solely because you ran only one qualifying table, subject to the per-period cap, fraud review, and chargeback or refund rules.

Credit is intended to apply in the calendar month after the month in which a session qualifies, toward the subscriber’s next renewal cycle as described at checkout. We may change thresholds, caps, timing, or eligibility with reasonable notice.

6.2 Paid games (platform fee)

For paid game listings, seats, or sessions that are hosted and settled through FateTide, we currently intend a platform fee of fifteen percent (15%) on gross amounts paid by players for those charges, with eighty-five percent (85%) paid to the host before any separate payment-processor or network fees. Fees for other products (such as digital goods in our Marketplace) may use a different split as posted at checkout. We may change fees or splits with reasonable notice.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to FateTide at our discretion, particularly if you violate these Terms and Conditions. Upon termination, your right to use the platform will cease, but any content you have submitted may remain on the platform unless otherwise requested and permitted by law.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

FateTide is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FateTide and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data, profits, or content.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Nebraska, USA. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Nebraska, USA.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the platform or email. Continued use of FateTide after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
