I was born into legend, even before I knew my own name.

My family—renowned adventurers—were known across the realm as saviors, champions, defenders of the innocent. Their names were carved into the songs of the people. But it wasn’t kings or nobles that ruined us. It was merchants.

It was the Links.

A powerful merchant syndicate, hiding rot beneath gold. Slavery. Blood arenas. Assassinations of politicians they couldn’t buy. Corruption, in its purest form. My family, unaware of their true nature, completed a contract for them. When the truth came out, we expected a reckoning. Justice.

What we got was betrayal.

The Links turned the blade on us—not with steel, but with whispers. They spread lies. Branded my parents as butchers, mercenaries, glory-seekers. Ruined their names.

My father and mother, warriors of honor, were forced to lay down their blades in disgrace. Heroes, turned pariahs.

But I was not broken.

While my parents carried the weight of betrayal, I found another path. I abandoned the sword and turned inward—to the fire. To the ancient, seething flame in my blood, gifted by a red dragon long forgotten by the world but not by me. I began to study, to practice, to awaken the Primordial Flame—the pure, unchained force of draconic power from before the gods began to fear it.sometimes in my dreams I dream of fire and destruction but in the background I catch glimpses of what appears to be a demon and I think I heard her called idris.

I will not live as a servant, nor die in disgrace.

I will rise. I will burn away the corruption. I will destroy the Links, and any who hide behind wealth and lies.

And when I stand atop the ashes, I will not just be a dragonborn.

I will be their god.
