Red velvet lines the molded interior of this hardwood chest. The chest has steel hinges and latches, and smells of alcohol and oil. Compartments inside hold flasks of assorted sizes and shapes with vial stands, fasteners, and hooks in a similar array. One section houses a small copper alembic, the retort and receiver pot separated. Another contains a mortar and pestle, along with knives, funnels, and measuring spoons and scoops. Several flasks of liquid, some clear and some dark, accompany a small burner in yet another slot.
