Typically these creatures are summoned into a binding circle, then a ritual of binding can begin.

At Higher Levels At 6 mana, duration is 10 days; 7 mana, 30 days; 8 mana, 180 days, 9 mana 1 year.

You complete the intricate ritual, and glowing runes form a circle around the creature. Threads of light extend from it to you, binding its essence. The creature stiffens, then bows, tethered to your will.
