Minotaurs emerge as a distinctive and multifaceted Ancestry, enveloped in a rich tapestry of myth and mystery.

Optional World Story: Labyrinthine Origins
Minotaurs, as the lore goes, trace their Lineage back to the tragic tale of Thesia "The Bull" Danaria, a human warrior who dared to challenge the Beast Lords of Kham. Her rebellion was met with brutal retribution, as the Beast Lords used their beastMagics to transform her into a hybrid of human and bull, burdened with fits of violent rage. This grotesque creature was placed at the heart of an intricate labyrinth, where the captured rebels were sent to meet their doom.

However, salvation came in the form of Velathri, a fellow prisoner who chose words over steel, befriending the tormented Thesia. In retribution for this act of defiance, the Beast Lords also transformed Velathri into a Minotaur. In an unexpected twist of fate, love blossomed between Thesia and Velathri, leading to the birth of new Minotaurs. Decades later, this resilient race charged out of the Maze, reducing Kham to ruins before dispersing across distant lands, fearing retribution.

Physical Characteristics:
Minotaurs embody this dual Nature - their imposing Humanoid bodies, muscular and covered in patches of thick hair, present a striking contrast with their massive, horned bull heads, which house eyes reflecting both soulful Mind and smoldering intensity. To think of this creature as part man and part bull insults both. Its massive Body better resembles an Ogre both in size and stature. And while its head bears great bovine horns, its iron-ringed snout outstrips any animal in fearsome ugliness. It swings a huge axe, which looks like a sharpened ploughshare strapped to a log.

Primal Rage:
Minotaurs are known for their fiery temper, a seething rage that simmers within. Some among them struggle to control this destructive energy, unleashing it on anyone or anything that crosses their path. Others take pride in their Ability to harness and Focus their anger, choosing to fight only when their survival depends on it.

In the heat of battle, a Minotaur charges from one foe to the next, relishing the thrill of combat, only retreating when victory becomes an impossible Dream.

Labyrinthine Magic and Terrain:
Minotaurs' connection to labyrinths extends beyond their origin story. They are often drawn to maze-like terrain, such as winding canyons, twisting ruins, and bewildering dungeons, where their Innate Skills and affinity for Mazes come to the forefront. These places offer them an ADV as guides, problem-solvers, and protectors, utilizing their unique form of Magic, known as Labyrinthine Magic, to manipulate the Essence of Mazes, conjuring illusions, barriers, and teleportation Spells.

Deep Bonds:
Even the most fearsome Minotaurs can form fiercely loyal Bonds with friends who earn their trust. These Chosen few are exempt from the creature's explosive ire. However, anyone who betrays the trust of a Minotaur will face the full wrath of their Fury, a Force capable of cleaving through foes and reducing even the mightiest adversaries to trembling Shadows.

Minotaurs provide players with a captivating and Versatile Ancestry choice. With their History deeply rooted in Divine Transformation and labyrinthine Magic, they offer an array of role-playing opportunities. Whether they are embracing their rage, seeking to uncover the secrets of ancient labyrinths, or forming Unbreakable Bonds with their companions, Minotaurs bring a unique and compelling dimension to the realms of fantasy tabletop role-playing.
