You have spotted a trap, and it is no longer Hidden.
You can now try to Disarm the Trap.
If the Trap is a Mechanical Trap, you require Machining Tools, and this also using the Machining skill vs the Trap DC.
If the Trap is a Magical Trap, you will require Enchanting Tools and Magic skill vs the Trap DC.
With the proper tools, you make the skill roll vs the Trap DC, which is typically a sum of all its components, abilities, or nested spells.
The amount of time it takes to disarm a trap is the Trap DC / 2.
If you Miss the Trap DC by 7 or more when disarming the Trap, the trap is triggered typically.
You stare at the trap’s gleaming gears and taut wires, a mechanical maze of sharp edges and coiled springs. Each click echoes, daring your steady hands to unravel its intricate, deadly puzzle.
