You Summon a friendly companion from another Plane of existence.
Additional animal form choices may be available under GMD.
Your familiar acts independently of you, but it always obeys your Command Foes.
As with most Summons, you can Dismiss Summon, at any time, or Recall Summon.
If the Familiar drops to 0 Vitality, it is destroyed, and reTurns to its home Plane, awaiting for you to resummon it again using this Spell.
While your familiar is within Far of you, you can communicate with it telepathically.
Additionally, as a Full Ability, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next Turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the familiar has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.
While in this direct control of your familiar (acting on your turn), you can cast a Spell with a Range of Reach, of your familiar. Your familiar must be within Far of you to do this.
Methodically, you assemble the components—charcoal, incense, herbs—setting them ablaze in a brass brazier adorned with creatures. Kneeling, you utter the incantation, immersed in the arcane cloud. Beyond veils, you beckon a companion. With remnants, you inscribe runes, encircling yourself. The presence materializes—a new familiar, emerging from the mystical haze.
I Cast Summon Familiar
Surrounded by the acrid tang of charcoal and incense, a shape materializes in the coiling smoke. As I utter the last spell words, my new familiar pops into existence, hovering within a magical sphere above the flames.
