Explosive Runes create a 20-foot-radius burst of acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage. Creatures in the area make a Balance roll, taking 5d8 damage on a failure or half on a success.

Inscribed runes pulse with volatile energy, their jagged lines glowing crimson against the stone or parchment. Triggered, they erupt in a 20-foot radius, unleashing a searing burst of fire that scorches flesh and melts armor, or jagged lightning that cracks bones and singes hair. The shockwave hurls bodies tumbling, demanding desperate footing amid the acrid smoke and thunderous roar, inflicting 5d8 wounds on the unsteady.
