The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 Vitality and doesn't regenerate.

The troll can regenerate limbs, fingers, or appendages as long as it is not at 0 Vitality.

Your flesh bubbles and shifts, sealing cuts with raw, uneven skin. Torn muscle latches back together, knitting like tangled roots. Bruises shrink, bone mends with a faint crackle, leaving only faint traces of past damage.
