You part the water in the area, creating a trench through it. The separated water rises into walls on either side of the trench. The trench remains until the spell ends or you choose a different effect. When it ends, the water slowly fills the trench over the next round until the normal water level returns.
The water splits before you, a yawning trench carving through its depths, exposing damp earth and rippling silt below. Towering walls of churning blue surge upward on both sides, translucent veils straining against unseen bonds, droplets cascading like liquid chains. The divide holds firm, a fleeting canyon in the waves, until the walls crash back, flooding the gap with a slow, inexorable rush.
