A shipping crate is a reinforced wooden box used to move trade goods, tools, food, weapons, or contraband. Iron bands, wax seals, stamped marks, or shipping tags can reveal its owner, destination, cargo type, or whether it has been opened.
Rough-hewn planks of oak, splintered at the edges, clamp together under rusted iron bands that bite deep into the grain. Wax seals bulge like frozen blood droplets over nailed seams, stamped with faded guild marks and scrawled tags fluttering in the salt-laced breeze. The lid warps slightly from unseen weight inside, exhaling a faint whiff of oiled steel and damp burlap.
