Legendary Creatures gain Legendary Resistance.
This is an ability called 
Legendary Defenses. They automatically gain this Ability when deemed a Legendary Creature.
The controller can use this ability at ANY TIME, in or out of combat, to gain ADV on Defense Skill rolls.
