Shapeshift
Term

When you Shapeshift, your entire Body changes. You gain Temp V equal to the creature you Shapeshifted into. Any damage you take while in this form that exceeds the Temp V, carries over into your true form. Once the damage exceeds your Temp Vitality, you automatically Shapeshift back into your true form immediately.

Example:
A Druid takes 100 Bludgeoning damage from falling off a cliff as a goldfish. The goldfish provides 1 Temp V, then 99 remaining damage carries over onto Druid's true form.

Temp V does NOT stack. When a Shapeshift occurs, the current creature loses ANY existing Temp V. Temp V is the mechanic of what sustains the creature's form.

To calculate the new form, you either take the average, or Janus will automatically roll the Vitality for the Temp V form from the calculation of the creature's size, Body, and CR.

Your Body is altered and changes into the new Body, but your Mind, Soul, Spirit, Mana, and Luck, are kept unchanged.

When shapeshifting, all other shapeshifts are removed if any are currently active.

Equipment typically folds into the skin of your new form, unless the ability states or gives you the option not to, the equipment then is applied onto your new form, as in the case of a shapeshifting as a werewolf.

Any status effects you had in your previous form, are also persist while shapeshifting into the new form, including any spell or ability effects current in effect, such as being prone.

Unless otherwise stated:

You gain from the shapeshifted creature/object:
- The status effect labeled as "creature"
- Any abilities
- Natural armor
- Natural weapons
- Movement types
- Senses
- Resistances
- Immunities
- Innate Skills which are greater than yours.
- Natural weapon and armor skills greater than yours.
- Your portrait in the encounter widget changes to the template form the creature.
- The Body of the creature

You do NOT gain from the shapeshifted creature/objects form:
- Any spellcasting abilities or prepared Spells
- Mana
- Inventory that it might be carrying.

You lose, from your true form:
- Your body of your true form.
- All abilities of your true form.
- Any feats of your true form.
- Senses of your true form.
- Movement types of your true form.

You retain, from your true form:
- Your Mind, Soul, Spirit, Mana, Fortune, and Luck
- All skills of your true form, such as Weapon Skills, or Language Skills.

You may Cast Spells in your new form. For somatic Spells you must have Humanoid like hands. For verbal Spells you must have be able to speak. Typically, only Druid are able to speak in Shapeshift, but are typically unable to cast Spells.

When reverting to your true form, any residual matter created or secreted in your shapeshifted form melts or shrivels away into dust. This matter, being part of your shapeshifted form, cannot retain its substance outside of the transformation, as it is held together by magic or an ability.

Note:
If the shapeshifted form has an ability to shapeshift into another form, you can also shapeshift into that form, but the original form will be lost, as it is not your true form.
