The Blood of the Hemophage traces its lineage to cursed rites, parasitic bloodlines, or forbidden transfusions that awakened an ancient hunger in your veins. Whether through pacts, infection, or inheritance, your blood no longer merely sustains—it consumes. This subclass embodies a form of sorcery fed by lifeforce: drawn, stolen, or devoured from others. Your arcane power is a living hunger that feeds and grows with every drop spilled, shaping your body into a vessel of ritual predation.

Crimson Consumption

Hemophages cast through sacrifice. They drip blood into the weave of spells, offering health or the health of others to fuel devastating magic. Some drain vitality with a glare, others erupt veins into whips of arcane plasma, or curse foes with clotting hexes that halt movement and breath. With each wound inflicted, their essence sharpens—bolstering defense, increasing potency, or reknitting their own flesh. Their power is brutal, efficient, and innately parasitic: magic that grows stronger the more it feeds.

In the Bone-Spires of Kaervhun

Hemophages originate in secretive cults, sunless hospitals, or blood-bonded crypts—places where the difference between healer and butcher is thin as a vein wall. Within the bone-spires of Kaervhun, bloodrites are performed on awakening sorcerers: transfusions from vampiric relics, rituals that silence a heartbeat for seven days, or trials to survive being drained dry by one's own shadow. Survivors gain control over the bloodstream itself, transforming from victim to apex predator in the hierarchy of lifeforce.

Doctrine of the Vital Debt

A Hemophage sees every living being as a ledger of vitality. Their doctrine is built around balance through transference: every spell has a price, and every action bleeds it. They leech health through runes carved into skin, explode stored blood into destructive waves, or animate blood clones from fallen foes. Where others spend mana, the Hemophage spends blood. Where others die from wounds, they weaponize them. They are sorcerers of marrow, sinew, and sacrifice—dripping power from the line between life and death.
